Manicure Monday: New Year's Nails

I wasn't really sure what to do with my nails for New Year's. I wanted to have orange, but I only had one orange that wasn't neon, CG Riveting. How am I supposed to make a color like that be New Year's acceptable?
So, there was my solution. Striping tape + glitter = eh. I did matte on my ring finger, but it didn't come out very well.

Read after the jump to see how I fixed it-->

Here's Zoya Storm. Isn't it gorgeous? I love the holographic glitter mixed into the black. This is a black I'd wear on a day to day basis.
No flash--sorry it's dark

I then sponged CG Angel Wings over my tips. I love the end result. It's a very glittery manicure, but I think the glitter in Storm aided the gradient effect somewhat.
Gold is close enough to orange, right?

My friend Emily came over, and I did her nails as well. I used Nina Purple Xing for the base (which my camera hated taking a picture of--believe me, it's gorgeous) and used striping tape to create the shooting star design in CG White on White, with a little orange jewel up top for the star.
